Tasman Forestry Ltd: 1994 Digital mapping - data capture programme to digitise all forestry maps. The project allows staff to call up maturity profile and silvicultural management data on each forest stand and three-dimensional modelling of hills and valleys to help plan logging with minimal distruption to the environment. Computer technology is also used to model growth simulations for different plantations and variable cultivation regimes. Forestal Bio Bio is working on a similar programme
