Description
The series has been artificially created from images contained in a file largely related to residential housing and early construction in New Zealand. The series includes the first state house built in New Zealand, which was built by the Fletcher Construction Company in Miramar, Wellington and the Penrose site of Residential Construction, staff, trucks and signage. Also included is the mobile field office first used at the Caxton Mill site, Kawerau in 1955. The Fletcher Joinery Factory 1926 and the first shipment of pre-cut housing timber in 1959, also the mobile scaffolding used at the 1940 Centennial Exhibition in Wellington. Some items are copies and the original may be held in another series
