Description
The photographs in this series relate to Winstone Ltd activities in Auckland City. The first item is the Auckland waterfront in1859 the year William Winstone arrived in New Zealand, and item 2 is of William Winstone's first place of business in 1864. The images are either directly related to Winstone's or illustrate the environment which the company operated 1864 to 1965. The events include the Regatta Day on the Hauraki Gulf, the Labour Day Parade, Auckland waterfront, panoramic views from Mt Roskill prior to development, Grafton Bridge under construction and Auckland Hospital prior to demolition in 1964.
