Novaplast Ltd was established in 1948 by Mr DA Lenart, who commenced the manufacture of cast polyester products and introduced ployester/fibreglass sheeting products into the range. On the 23rd May 1962 the Novaplast factory opened in Porirua. Winstone Ltd were one of the master distributers
In 1961 the Winstone Group took a 50% interest in Novaplast Ltd at which time the Comapny began to manufacture uPVC extruded products. The company continued to trade under the name Novaplast Ltd until it shifted its manufacturing operations to Palmerston North in 1975 when it was renamed Winstone Plastics Ltd.
In 1965 the company became a wholly owned member company of the Winstone Group and has grown into New Zealand's largest manufacturer of UPVC products, and roof and wall gladding.
The company also exported to markets in the Pacific Basin.
