Name change to Winstone Quarries Ltd 29 May 1975
Winstone Ltd acquired as a subsidiary the long established Tauwhare Metal Supplies Ltd on tn the Ist April 1962. The quarry and plant were situated a near Morrinsville. The greywacke quarry was the principal source of Winstone's Hamilton supply of aggregate for the block making and premixed concrete facilities at Te Rapa. Extensive improvements were made to the palnt in the first two years of acquiring the company.
The activites were directed by Harry Barrance and Quarry managerbAlan Firmin
