Wrightcars Ltd was formed as a subsidiary of Wright Stephenson & Co Ltd in 1972 to take over the operations of Wright Stephenson & Co Ltd motor division.
NR Eades was appointed Managing Director and R R Trotter Chairman of the Board of Directors. The company had 37 branches at that time. Hugh Dickinson was appointed branch supervisor in Wellington. In 1989 the company was divested.
