History
New Zealand Plywood Ltd was established in 1941 in Penrose by Fletcher Holdings Ltd for their plywood manufacturing activities. Plyco was a brand name used from the beginning of plywood manufacture by the company.

In 1954, NZ Plywood Ltd became part of Fletcher Industries Ltd and in 1961 it ceased to be known as NZ Plywood Ltd.

From then until 1967 plywood manufacturing was carried out by the Plyco Division of Fletcher Industries Ltd.

In 1967, the Plyco Division transferred to Fletcher Timber Ltd.
