The Fletcher Timber Company
Fletcher Timber Company limited was established in 1954 to take control of Fletcher Holdings Ltd timber merchandising and joinery factories. However the beginnings of the company go back to 1910 when the partnership of Fletcher & Morris opened the joinery factory in Dunedin.

JS Watt was appointed to the board of Fletcher Timber in 1965.
In a Fletcher Holdings group re-organisation in March 1967, the Board becameer JS Watt (Chairman), AT Jewell (Managing Director), Cooper, AB Downey, JS Fletcher, LM Gillions, BA Henry, HN Johnson, HJS Craig, RHC Walshe and J Lord (Secretary).[1]
On October 1, 1968 AB Downey was appointed deputy managing director and then managing director on March 31, when AT Jewell relinquished the post of managing director and became Chairman.
