Box 50 processed to 2001P-2004P; Boxes 13,27,31 amalgamated into box 31; This accession was transferred from Waiotapu forestry headquarters in Nov1997. Its contents include information on the history of the forest, files, FRI information, historical photographs and information, annual reports, planting details, maps, visitor and recreation information and photographs of staff and the area. Aerial photos have run #s based on map grid
The variety of its contents and rarity of some of its information will provide the archive with a valuable record of the history of forestry in New Zealand. The collection is significant historically to both Fletcher Challenge, as the present custodian of the accession, and for business history in New Zealand as it represents a fairly complete record of the growth of this industry.
