Chronological; Maoriland Timber Company Ltd formed out of T Melrose's timber merchants business. In 1954 Ellis and Burnand Ltd purchased 100 shares in the company and by 1957 were the sole share holders. In 1965 the company changed its name to Maoriland Building Supplies Ltd.
