Fletcher GKN Ltd 1971-1975
In 1974 a factory was built in Penrose and a second special purpose mill designed for the production of painted, galvanised and uncoated purloins was commissioned in October.
In 1975 Fletcher Brownbuilt Division became a wholly owned part of the Manufacturing Group following the acquisition of the 50% of its share capital from GKN.
In 1976 Brownbuilt manufactured in six locations
In the wake of the merger between Winstone Ltd and Fletcher Challenge Ltd in 1988 Fletcher Brownbuilt and Dimond Industries merged to form Fletcher Dimond and was part of the Fletcher Steel Industries Sector.
In 1992 Fletcher Dimond changed its name to Dimond Industries Ltd
