History
In 1964 the Winstone Group took a 50% interest in Novoplast Ltd, a company which was founded in 1948 by DA Lenart, to manufacture cast polyester products.

In 1965 the company became wholly owned subsidiary of Winstone Ltd. Novoplast Ltd manufactured PVC extruded products. Novakey (NZ) Ltd was a subsidiary of Novoplast Ltd.

In 1975 the company was renamed Winstone Plastics Ltd. The company had grown to become the largest manufacturer of UPVC products and roof cladding in New Zealand.

In 1989 Winstone Plastics Ltd (consisting of operations in Palmerston North, Auckland and Christchurch producing PVC pipes and fittings for soil, waste and vent systems, underground drainage systems, water reticulation and rainwater systems) was sold to a division of James Hardie Impey Ltd.[1]
