1925 Builders Composite Materials Ltd established in Auckland to manufacture plaster wallboard (by Mr Harold Hitchon) using technology and raw materials from the US; 1927 Name change from Builders Composite Materials Ltd to NZ Wallboards Ltd, share capital was increased, a new factory was built in Balmoral Road, Mt Eden and Winstone Limited was appointed distributing agents on the understanding they would purchase entire factory output. This series consists of photographs depicting the method of stopping and fixing Gibraltar Wallboard. Some Winstone Wallboards on-site contracts are included but mostly the items are closeups of Gib Walls showing the techique of stopping and fixing. Winstone Wallboards Ltd, NZ Companies Office #42029; NZBN: 9429040750019; From Certificate of Incorporation: "WINSTONE INDUSTRIES LIMITED was incorporated under the Companies Act 1908 on the 30th day of June 1927 as a Private Company (Shares) and changed its name to WINSTONE INDUSTRIES LIMITED on the 4th day of March 1992 and changed its name to WINSTONE WALLBOARDS LIMITED on the 4th day of March 1992 and was reregistered to become a company under the Companies Act 1993 on the 29th day of May 1996 and was reregistered as a Unlisted on the 29th day of May 1996 and was removed from the register on the 15th day of August 2000.
