Tasman Forestry Ltd: Te Teko nursery - 1993 Senior Lab Technician Dianne Oliver operates the Continuous Flow Media Steriliser which produces the media in which rootable shoots grow. This process was formerly done by hand but was automated as the micropropagation process expanded. The machine is unique and was specially designed for its purpose. In the process de-ionised water and sugars and minerals are added to gelling agents. The media is colour coded to different stages of the shoots!' growth. Dianne can produce 9,000 units per day
