Description
Broad Bay House was the first building constructed in New Zealand by James Fletcher; Located at 727 Portobello Road, Dunedin, and built for Hubert Green a storekeeper, the contract was won by J Fletcher and his partner Albert Morris in 1909. The series consists of photographs which were taped into a album comprising of light paper pages.

The album is undated but maybe circa 1980, the images are exterior views of the house with a date range of 1909 to 1990. Some of the images were used in the publication by Peter Shaw published when the Fletcher Trust restored the house in 1992.

The series also includes colour prints of the interior and exterior of the house taken in 1990. Items 13-17 depict progress of renovation from 21 June to 17 November 1991

Items 21-23 were added in August 2002.

Aa part of Dunedins Heritage Festival the Otago Peninsula Trust held a function the 21 March 2009 at Fletecher House to to celebrate the centennial of the house being built. Many of the volunteers and other interested people were dressed in Edwardian costume. Angus Fletcher addressed the gathering and afternoon tea was served. The series includes the photographs (digital) taken by 'Seen in Dunedin' company.
